Sports Medicine
Hot weather can be a risk during doubles practice schedules.
Please reference the links below for recommendations from the Sports Medicine staff on how to keep your athletes hydrated, healthy and at peak performance levels. Our staff will be continuously monitoring weather conditions and provide recommendations to coaches if practice modifications are deemed necessary. Simple steps taken by the athletes to be properly hydrated begin at home, 24 hours prior to workouts.

Interested in sports medicine? Sports Med Club coming Fall 2010!
Want to learn about athletic injuries? Love to be involved in athletics but don't play a sport? Join our sports medicine department on the sidelines and learn about all that goes in to keeping athletes healthy, strong and injury free. You'll get to learn and practice basic skills we use everyday for prevention, immediate care, treatment and rehabilitation of sports injuries. You'll get to be in the action during competitions and most importantly, you'll have great time. If you are an athlete, you are still welcome to join during your off-season. This sports medicine club will be brand new this year and we are working to generate enough interest for official school sponsorship. Please contact Annika Safstrom (safstroa@newtrier.k12.il.us) with any questions and return a completed interest form located under "Sports Med Club" on the right side of this page.
More information will be posted soon.
The New Trier Sports Medicine team works in conjunction with area physicians, physical therapists and other allied health fields to meet the needs of each individual athlete. Our staff of four certified athletic trainers focus on the prevention, recognition, treatment and rehabilitation of sport related injuries. Our athletic training rooms are equipped with all the modalites and rehabilitation tools necessary to provide the best possible care for our student athletes. We have locations on both east and west campuses making us available throughout the school day as well as during practices and home interscholastic events and we will also be available at our off campus sites. Our priority is the safety, health and fitness of our student athletes.
