For
Sophomores, the program offers individual counseling and the opportunity for students to job
shadow with or interview professionals in the community. In this experience,
students spend a typical day with a professional and gain personal
insight about a potential career. Last year over fifty students
were placed with professionals in the Chicago area. Individual
students were able to spend an entire day with professionals in
law, construction, medicine, aviation, theater, advertising and
finance. One of the keys to the success of the Job Shadowing
Program is the enthusiastic participation of New Trier parents who
are willing to host a student at their work site.
