College
Applications
New Trier does not supply college
applications (exception: University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign). You
must get the application on the web or write directly to the college and
request application forms. A few schools will send us a supply of
applications which are in boxes on top of the file cabinets or the individual
college file in Room 201.
When you fill out an application, be sure to sign
it and attach the application fee
(if there is one) and your picture (if requested by the college) with
your name on the back of the picture.
Bring the entire application to Room 201 when you have
completed your part. All secondary school report forms and counselor
recommendation forms are to be given to your college counselor--not to your
advisor. Teacher recommendations should be given to the teachers with a
stamped, addressed envelope; they will mail their letters directly to the
colleges. Teachers are asked to write letters fro many students.
Please keep this in mind and watch deadlines! It is strongly recommended
that teachers forward a copy of their recommendations to the Post-High School
Counseling Office.
The first three applications that you submit are processed
with your fee bill. There is a $5.00 fee for each additional application
(transcript). You may have $5.00 in cash or a check made out to NEW
TRIER HIGH SCHOOL.

Reporting Test
Scores to Colleges
It is your responsibility to see that the appropriate SAT I
and/or ACT and or SATII/Subject Test scores are sent to the colleges. If
you did not code your college(s) at the time you registered for the tests, you
can fill out additional score report forms in order to have your scores
sent. Most colleges require official test scores; this means that they
must be received from the testing offices in a sealed envelope -- not from the
high school or the students. Additional score report forms may be
obtained from the Testing Center in Room 221.
